Where words have failed me, photography has given broad expression, giving form to the
images I see in my head, making the intangible real that I may share with the world. By inviting
viewers to see the world through my eyes, I aim to foster a deeper connection between the
observer and the subjects that inhabit my frames, calling them to see the stories I capture and
encouraging them to discover new ones.

By showing my work predominantly in monochrome, I shift the focus from colour to form, texture
and contrast. Be it a portrait or cityscape, I want to distil it down to its essence, forcing the
viewer to appreciate the image in its raw and pure state.

I find inspiration all around me; everyday people in their routine, a sudden juxtaposition of opposites, a glimpse of the mundane from a fresh perspective. I capture shining moments in time, preserving the essence of a split second that might otherwise go unnoticed

As a photographer, my mission is to create images that evoke emotions and prompt
introspection. I aim to transport viewers to the heart of the places I photograph, allowing them to
enjoy the universal beauty of the human experience. Through my work, I hope to inspire a
renewed appreciation for the art of observation and the boundless stories that dwell within the
monochromatic tapestry of our world.

Efe Edosio is a Lagos-based documentary photographer and filmmaker with a deep interest in documenting uniquely African stories. Having no formal training in photography, Efe is completely self-taught and has built his craft by keen observation of the world around him, finding interesting and unique perspectives to capture through his lens. When he is not helping brands tell compelling stories, he is exploring human stories via personal documentary projects within and outside Nigeria, discovering and documenting African cities, people and cultural festivals. One of his documentary projects, Pawn Promotion, a documentary about a young chess prodigy in the floating slums of Makoko, Lagos, has screened in both local and international film festivals, winning the Best Documentary Prize at the Inshort Film Festival, Lagos in 2021 and Disability Narrative Documentary Prize at the Novelle Film Festival, London in 2022.
